Chinese New Year 2014 – The Year of the horse

Finally I went to see the London celebrations of the Chinese New Year! The festivities were happening on Trafalgar square and in the various streets of China town. We arrived rather early, but people were coming and coming and by 1pm everywhere was totally packed!

We got a red envelope (tradition – children receive red envelopes with small gifts or money.  In our envelope was a leaflet about soy sauce 🙂 ), there were firecrackers (to scare away unlucky spirits), dancing dragons and lots of food (tasted very nice dumplings – one filled with meat and one with red bean paste). And many many people!

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Have a good year – the year of the horse

V nasi obalce byl letacek o sojove omacce 🙂 ), bouchaly petardy (k odehnani duchu nestesti), tancili draci a vonelo jidlo (ochutnali jsme velmi dobre knedliky – jeden plneny masem a druhy pastou z cervenych fazoli).

Xin Nian Kuai Le! At se nam ten Rok kone vydari!
